I launched Trapeze Recruitment in July 2016 and up until September 2018 I was running the business from home. I was juggling my time to run the business, grow the business, deal with all the accounts, convert new clients and also be the sole recruiter. But this hard work and minimum initial investment has truly paid off.

After a very long and somewhat lonely summer of 2018 I made the decision to pack up my office from home and move into a lovely brand-new office. This decision allowed me to also employ my first consultant. Emma Hopkins joined Trapeze in November 2018 and is still with me and doing extremely well.

Every day in my 19 years of recruitment the 2nd thing I do in the morning, (cup of tea/coffee first) is write a to-do list. Since launching Trapeze, writing a blog has been on my to-do list but never made it to the top!!!! Until today!  Moving to an office, appointing Emma and working really hard has made this happen. People may view this as a minor achievement but to me it is a big accomplishment and going forward, I plan to share Trapeze’s good news inviting you to join our journey of continued success, because I now have time to write about it.

However, success does not come without its challenges and frustrations. Very early on in my recruitment career I quickly realised that well over 50% of news you receive as a recruiter is not the news that you want, so I also plan to share these frustrations and how positive actions can overcome negativity. The glass has got to be half full in recruitment….you have to accept that not everything goes your way and brush yourself down and move on, but most importantly respect the decision of a candidate and client.
