Project Engineer

£35,000 - £37,000 per annum

Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work closely with technical sales, Design and Production to help with the initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects. In this role, you will be assisted in your development with internal and external training (as required).

This role will be suited to a keen and enthusiastic project engineer in either electrical or mechanical engineering.

You will work Monday-Thursday with week 1 Friday off and week 2 Friday working 4 hours. The working hours are flexible starting between 07:00-09:00 and finishing between 16:15-18:15 Monday-Thursday, same start time on the Friday worked but finishing between 11:00-13:00.

 

Responsibilities

  • Planning and defining scope of Project, including meeting customer specifications and requirements
  • Project timescale estimating
  • Cost estimating and budget planning to meet the finical objectives of the customer project
  • Control and completion of project documentation including but not limited to; Quality Plans, Certificates of Conformity, Installation, Operation & Maintenance Instructions
  • Monitoring and Reporting progress to both senior management and customer
  • Liaising with customers and sub-contract companies
  • Checking of CAD designs / drawings prior to customer approval
  • Generation of MRP parts / Bills of Materials / Works Orders / Drawing Packages for Production

 

Skills and experiences required

  • Minimum HNC qualified in a suitable engineering discipline
  • An apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline
  • Available to travel if required in UK and abroad to meet the requirements of business
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well with all departments and outside connections
  • Proven experience in a full-time project engineer role.
  • Some working experience in the below would be extremely beneficial…

Areas – Heating & ventilation systems/equipment, Sheetmetal fabrication, Design of equipment, for Hazardous environments (Atex), Electrical design/standards, ISO 9001/14001, Offshore/Renewable markets.

Systems – Draft Sight, SolidWorks, MRP Systems (Javelin), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project

Position Expectations

The Marketing Assistant’s role is to assist with the successful running of the communications department.  This involves supporting the three main functional areas of the department: content creation, localisation and publishing; campaign implementation and event management.   The Assistant’s time will be broadly split across these three functional areas.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of content updates
  • Help manage the translation system
  • Deal with ad hoc content requests and assist with the management of content assets
  • Help manage website updates
  • Become knowledgeable in the task management system and support the team in managing tasks
  • Help manage and support campaign implementation programmes, including assisting with digital advertising, social media, coordinating translations and helping with other areas of campaign implementation
  • Help manage and support events and exhibitions as they occur.  This may involve many different aspects of event management, for example coordinating hotel bookings, meeting rooms, lead management etc.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience within a marketing related position involving use of social media, content creation and event management
  • IT literate with strong knowledge of Word and Excel. An understanding of design related packages is desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Attention to detail
